Hello St. Margaret Mary Community,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far!

ITEMS OF INFORMATION:

Catholic Leadership Council (CLC): Congratulations to our newly elected Catholic Leadership Council. Grade 7 & 8 students presented speeches last week and our Grade 4 to 8 students had a chance to vote on the council. We have 8 students who have been elected and we are excited to work with an awesome team to plan events for the school community.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR MESSAGE FROM THE PARISH: We need your help!!! Parent Volunteers are required to assist with the St. Margaret Mary Parish Bazaar Kids Korner coming up on Fri. Nov. 3. The timeframe is from 10:30 to 2:30 and can be done in approx. 2 hour time slots. We need at least 8-10 volunteers throughout the day to be able to offer this activity to all the school children. The activities are simple face painting with a stencil, fish pond, and jelly bean contest. We need to know by Mon. Oct. 30 in order to finalize this program. PLEASE consider helping out to make this a fun day for your children! Contact Susanne King at 905.388.2859 or [email protected] for this and other volunteering opportunities that day.

The Christmas Bazaar runs from Friday, November 3 (4-8pm) and Saturday, November 4 ( 9am - 2pm). Students will have a chance to visit the bazaar on Friday during school hours with their class.

SWEATER ORDERS: Today is the last day to order a school hoodie through School Cash Online. Sweaters are $37 each.

CHOCOLATE ORDERS: We have a number of boxes of chocolate that have not been paid for yet. If you have not paid, please send in your money asap. We can only accept cash or cheque at this time as the online payment for this closed on Monday.

GOOD LUCK to our Senior Girls Flag Football and Senior Boys Flag Football teams who are starting their playoff games this week!

UPCOMING DATES:

Friday, October 27: Purple Shirt Day (dress down day) Every October, Children’s Aid Societies across Ontario raise awareness about the important role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families through the provincial Dress Purple Day campaign.
