Principal's Welcome Message
Welcome to the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Elementary School web site. We hope this site provides you with information regarding our school, our school community and our motto: FAITH, TEAMWORK, EXCELLENCE.
St. Margaret Mary is located on the East Mountain adjacent to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. We are blessed to have great partnerships with our Pastor Father Jeff Bergsma, Mrs. Marilyn Sturtevant, our Parish Minister and our Youth Minister, Marissa Kaufman. Sacramental preparation takes place with the parish, family and school working together. As a school we celebrate Mass and Reconciliation during the school year and individual classrooms hold celebrations within their classrooms on an ongoing basis. Our Sacramental life is celebrated every year in Grade 2 (Reconciliation and First Holy Communion) and Grade 7 (Confirmation). Prayer is central to the daily life of our school community. We are also taking time each day for Christian Meditation to grow closer to God.
Our staff at St. Margaret Mary is highly dedicated to fostering the spiritual, academic, physical and social/emotional growth of your child(ren) within an Christ-centered environment which reflects our Catholic Gospel values. By teaching and modelling gospel values, it is our hope that each child will then go forth and be a light to others. When the Church, Home and School partners work together, quality education is achieved.
Faith: We are blessed with a great tradition of a Parish and School Community that comes together to celebrate our Faith and support our community.
Teamwork: Again, our community at this school is noted for teamwork in sports (Go Marauders), clubs and in our families through our Catholic School Council supporting the growth of the Whole Child and the Whole Family.
Excellence: Every year we are encouraged by the achievements of our students in academics, athletics and activities. By setting clear expectations of excellence we foster excellence in our Faith, School and Community living.
St. Margaret Mary, our patron saint, reminds us to "Keep Christ in the centre of all we do."
Yours in Catholic Education,
Mr. J. Coons
